I home school my five children in Southern Oregon. I'm not a professional seamstress, but I'm quick. I've been making dresses since April 2005, always the same pattern. My friends have wanted dresses too, so I'd enlarge the pattern to fit others through trial and error. Now my pattern is set and I'm ready to offer these dresses to others that might be interested. This gives me a great sense of accomplishment. I desire to encourage modesty and femininity by making available alternatives to what's is generally found in clothing stores.
My wonderful husband doesn't like to be photographed. He looks like our two sons to the far right.
In the last several years, I've made over seven hundred dresses. Many have been donated to girls in orphanages in the Philippines and the South Pacific and it's exciting to think these dresses are worn around the world. I want to thank all of you for supporting me in my commitment to help young girls wear clothes that are both pretty and modest. I've been so encouraged by your enthusiasm and kind words to me about how much you've liked the dresses and how much you appreciate what I'm doing :)

My daughter Tessa, who is in several of the original pictures, will be 13 soon. She has been training this summer to make the dresses with me, so I'd like to introduce her as my new partner. We have purchased a serger and we're now finishing all the seams. Also, the price of fabric has gone up so we have changed the price of the dresses. I hope you will still find them reasonable.
When you're out-and-about and someone is interested in getting a dress - just look at the tag on each dress to give out my information!
Thank you for visiting,
Carla and Tessa Deems
